Pupils and staff at Woodfarm High School in East Renfrewshire will return after the summer to find a new and improved games hall roof.
Over the summer holiday, a team from GMG will be working on-site to insulate the flat games hall roof, removing the roof lights and clearing out the drainage systems.
These essential repairs will ensure the high school is weather-proofed ahead of the winter months.
The GMG Site Manager said: “We are delighted to be working closely with East Renfrewshire Council again on another essential improvement for local schools and communities alike.
“At GMG we pride ourselves on the work we do in our communities. The planning process for school refurbishments is crucial as all work has to happen during a very short time period.
“While school renovations can be challenging due to the tight turnaround, they are incredibly rewarding.”
The work at Woodfarm High School will shortly start and the project will be run concurrently with the refurbishment of St Cadoc’s Primary School in Newton Mearns.
GMG has extensive experience working within the educational sector and has carried out upgrade and refurbishment programmes at Southcraig School in Ayr, Firpark Secondary in North Lanarkshire, Kilwinning Academy and St Bridget’s in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire.
Gary McGinn, Construction Manager, added: “The contract win for these projects is a double victory for GMG. When complete, our work at St Cadoc’s Primary and Woodfarm High School will benefit both communities.
“As a construction manager, being part of school improvement projects provides immense satisfaction, and we are happy to serve the local areas.”
