GMG Contractors recently opened the doors of its Lochside Development in South Ayrshire to welcome a group of enthusiastic pupils from South Ayrshire Council’s Thriving Communities Future Skills Group. The site visit was designed to offer young people an engaging, and practical look into the construction sector, showcasing the vast array of career paths and trade opportunities available right in their local area.
For GMG Contractors, community benefit is a core business value. By partnering with the Thriving Communities initiative a framework dedicated to enhancing local life chances, reducing inequalities, and empowering residents. The Future Skills Group focuses on giving school pupils and young adults the confidence, resilience, and vocational insight needed to transition smoothly from education into sustainable careers.
The pupils got a first-hand look at how modern housing developments come together, learning about everything from site safety to the diverse roles that keep a project moving forward. Initiatives like the Future Skills Group are vital for building confidence and developing work-readiness, and we are thrilled to play a part in inspiring their career journeys.
