We are delighted with the progress being made at our Croy site.
The project is part of a five-year framework with North Lanarkshire Council. Awarded in 2020, the contract involves the upgrade of hundreds of homes across North Lanarkshire, with our expert team having completed their work in Motherwell, Cleland, Greengairs and Bellshill. Now in year four of the framework, we are progressing exponentially in Croy and are well on the way to delivering fresh, energy-efficient homes to its residents.
The properties have received the full works – with the installation of external wall insulation (EWI), cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, and new rendering to modernise the look and feel of the homes. Our expert team has also stripped the roofs and replaced the tiles, as well as installing heat recovery units and roof line and rainwater goods. The result of these upgrades are energy efficient homes that will reduce fuel costs for residents as well as their carbon footprint.
This project has also been special for another reason. At GMG, we pride ourselves on developing the construction industry of tomorrow, and are proud to have been awarded the Investors in Young People Platinum accreditation in 2022. With this framework, we had the opportunity to employ several apprentices from North Lanarkshire to work on the properties in their own community.
