GMG Contractors recently completed a significant upgrade project involving 23 bungalows within a sheltered housing complex at Lindsay Place, East Kilbride, working in close partnership with South Lanarkshire Council. The project focused on delivering a full external envelope upgrade, which included re-roofing, re-rendering, and the installation of new windows and doors.
This comprehensive refurbishment aimed to enhance both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the properties, many of which are home to elderly residents. With this in mind, GMG placed particular emphasis on maintaining a respectful, resident-focused approach throughout the works.
To minimise disruption, GMG appointed a site-based Tenant Liaison Officer. This dedicated point of contact helped ensure open communication, swiftly addressed any concerns, and provided reassurance to residents throughout the process.
The installation of new energy-efficient windows and doors will not only improve the thermal performance of the bungalows but also help create warmer, more comfortable living environments. This upgrade supports a higher quality of life for residents, who will benefit significantly from improved energy efficiency and reduced heating costs.
GMG Contractors is proud to have played a key role in delivering lasting improvements that go beyond bricks and mortar—building better homes and supporting the wellbeing of the community.
