We are delighted to report significant progress of our project to upgrade Firpark Secondary, an Additional Support Needs (ASN) school in Motherwell.
We announced the commencement of the contract with North Lanarkshire Council, a long-standing partner of GMG, in spring 2023. Since then, our team has been hard at work, carrying out a range of refurbishments at the school.
The project is now nearing completion, with the full refurbishment works due to be unveiled in mid-September.
This work has included full window and door replacements across the main building, as well as the gym hall’s high-level fixtures. Through close communication, phasing and programming with the school’s staff, we have carried out our work efficiently and safely, with minimal disturbance to pupils’ learning. Such considerations are extremely important to GMG, and something we ensure in all our works within school environments, such as our work in Woodfarm High School and St Cadoc’s Primary School.
In Firpark, the programme of works has freshened up the look and feel of the school while also improving its energy efficiency, ensuring a warm and safe learning environment for pupils and staff to enjoy.
