Four Year Measured Term Contract Win

Published: 9 August 2024

August marks the beginning of a four year measured term contract partnership with our long-standing client, South Lanarkshire Council. Over the next four years, GMG will work closely with the council to upgrade and rejuvenate hundreds of properties in various areas within South Lanarkshire, with the aim of improving the feeling of residents’ homes and reducing fuel poverty in the area.

The first project, involving five blocks of flats in Blantyre, will see our contractors carrying out a variety of works. These will include the installation of external wall insulation (EWI), as well as render, cavity wall and loft insulation, and implementing double glazed windows, all of which will ensure sound, warm homes for residents as we head into the autumn. Our staff will also relocate internal downpipes and carry out re-roofing, including pitched concrete, liquid plastics, rainwater goods, and associated AV, joiner and electrical works.

Not only will our work ensure more energy-efficient homes during the colder, wetter months, our refurbishments will also improve the homes’ aesthetics and atmosphere. This will be achieved through upgrading the door entry systems and common close decoration, with specific attention being given to ensure the preservation of the properties’ unique character through our repairs to the concrete balconies, balustrades and external decoration.

A GMG representative said: “We are thrilled to be able to partner with South Lanarkshire Council for the next four years to improve standards of living throughout the area. This contract win demonstrates our commitment to our clients, and assures us of our quality of work and dedication to delivering projects on time and on budget.”
