We are already looking forward to the new year, with GMG securing a significant contract win with West Lothian Council, which will put our team’s multi-disciplinary expertise to good use.
The EWI Improvements Programme, attained through the Procurement for Housing (PfH) Capital Works And Associated Services Dynamic Purchasing System as implemented by West Lothian Council, will see our experienced contractors carrying out extensive refurbishment work on multiple properties across the council area.
Kicking off in January, the project will involve the installation of external wall insulation, loft insulation and mechanical ventilation as well as re-roofing works, roof line replacement, decoration works, gas works, electrical works, AV works, joiner works and asbestos removal.
All our retrofitting work is carried out to PAS 2035 standards, and will aid West Lothian Council in reaching its Net Zero target while simultaneously reducing fuel poverty in the area. Following the work, residents will be able to enjoy warmer, more energy efficient and fresher-looking homes.
A GMG representative said: “We are thrilled to be starting 2024 in the best way, with a contract win secured with West Lothian Council. The project encompasses multiple properties across a large area, and will require our team’s vast knowledge in all things refurbishment. Plus, our work will help the council in meeting their Net Zero targets whilst making the tenant’s homes much warmer and affordable! We are ready to hit the ground running in January and deliver for both client and residents, and can’t wait to unveil the results of our work in due course.”
We have extensive experience working with Scottish local authorities on major projects, including our work in Pollok with Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council in East Kilbride and our re-roofing work in East Dunbartonshire.
