We were delighted to host representatives from the Scottish Government’s Heat & Energy Efficiency Team, along with colleagues from South Lanarkshire Council’s investment team and project co-ordinators, for a joint visit to our live site in Hamilton.
Meikle Earnock has been identified as a fuel-poverty priority zone, an area where homes need to be warmer, more efficient and more affordable to run. It was great to walk the site together and show the progress being made as we work to improve energy efficiency and deliver warmer homes for the community.
As part of the programme, works include:
• Installation of new UPVC windows and FD30-rated entrance doors
• Cavity wall insulation extract and refill
• Mechanical ventilation upgrades
• External wall insulation
• New communal doors and upgraded door entry systems
• Communal close decoration and electrical improvements
• A new insulated flat roof system
• Internal decoration works and soft landscaping enhancements
Working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council , our dedicated site management team has been coordinating every stage of the works with residents to keep disruption to a minimum. The aim is simple: lower energy bills, improve comfort, and significantly cut carbon emissions for households across Meikle Earnock.
With private homes supported through the Scottish Government’s EES:ABS programme, this project is a great example of a genuine, collaborative approach to tackling fuel poverty and delivering long-term benefits for the community.
GMG are proud to play our part in driving forward carbon reduction through innovative, energy-efficient construction.
