GMG have now secured three new contracts with UK house builders Lovell Homes to provide full roofing services on new developments that they are rolling out across central Scotland.
The hat-trick of wins was completed when the company was commissioned to commence work this month on Lovell’s site at Telburn Way in Bannockburn, near Stirling.
GMG had already been taken on board by Lovell to provide roofing and roughcasting works at their developments at Vellore Road, in Maddiston, near Falkirk, and at Hogganfield, Glasgow.
At Bannockburn, more than 40 apprentices will gain valuable experience as they work to complete a total of 115 three and four-bedroom properties in a busy, thriving area that is within easy commuting distance of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
A spokesman for GMG said: “We are delighted to keep our longstanding relationship going with Lovell Homes through these contracts, and we look forward to see the site at Bannockburn progressing.
“GMG are proud to be a vital part of Lovell’s supply chain and to be operational across a variety of their sites and to be helping to provide sustainable employment for local trades.”
GMG’s apprentices are progressing towards their Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 2 that the company helped to write.
As a work-related, competence-based qualification, it provides confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that the learner has the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally recognised standard to carry out their role.
Learners who achieve this qualification can use it to gain employment, to progress in the industry or to work towards another qualification.
Lovell have been delivering housing-led regeneration programmes across Scotland, England and Wales for more than 50 years and they are committed to sustainable practices and environmental benefits.
