GMG are to comprehensively upgrade three blocks of local authority homes, some of which were damaged by fire.
The works are for South Lanarkshire Council and are being delivered through their housing capital investment programme at Nos 2, 3 and 4 Kirkconnel Drive, Rutherglen.
Commencing on site in the coming weeks, the project will bring the blocks back to life for the local residents and provide a degree of community regeneration.
Works will involve:
GMG CEO Gerry McGinn said: “We are delighted to have been appointed principal contractors for the works.
“We have a strong track record of delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions for South Lanarkshire Council, and it is a pleasure to be trusted with another project.
“We were saddened to hear about the recent fire and we have been happy to help work with the council’s design team to provide a solution.
“The delivery of the works will mean that these three blocks will have their whole fabric treated, and this will future-proof them for many years.
“GMG are contractors who specialise in whole-house retrofit programmes with a specialism in fabric. We have delivered many similar projects for SLC and we hope to continue to deliver more.”
The project also provides continued employment for GMG’s Adult and Modern Apprentices, and it supports the ongoing development of their trainee quantity surveyor – all of whom are South Lanarkshire residents.
The apprentices attend South Lanarkshire College in East Kilbride, with whom GMG have forged strong and lasting links.
