GMG have secured a prestigious place for the second time on Scotland’s national energy efficiency framework contract to support local authorities and housing associations achieve their net-zero ambitions.
The framework will enable these bodies to upgrade housing stock by sourcing expertise from suppliers who have been through the tender process and are ready to do business.
GMG are joined by 36 other Scottish companies on the Scotland Excel framework that aims to help councils and housing associations cut carbon emissions, tackle fuel poverty and create warmer homesthrough whole house retrofit.
Scotland Excel is the Scottish Government’s official national portal for public sector contract opportunities, serving the country’s 32 local authorities and more than 100 associate members from across the public and third sectors.
The framework provides a pathway for contractors to deliver a range of measures including wall, floor and loft insulation; window and door replacement and retrofit; roof insulation, repair and replacement; electric heating; air source and ground source heat pumps as well as renewables and energy storage solutions.
GMG are now part of a group of 46 UK-based suppliers on the framework, all of whom have the opportunity to secure a share of business expected to be worth £800million over four years.

“Our business prides itself on the amount of apprentices that we continually employ and we are also encouraged that the framework has been designed with input from Energy Skills Partnership to encourage training and apprenticeships in our sector.
“This will create sustainable employment opportunities for both existing and new staff and will help us give vital experience for the 27 apprentices that we have working for us as a key part of our business.”
