GMG Contractors Partners with Fife Housing Group to Deliver Energy Efficiency Upgrades Across 28 Homes

GMG Contractors is delighted to be a partner with Fife Housing Group to deliver a comprehensive programme of energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades across 28 properties in Fife.

The project, which runs from 18 August 2025 to 31 March 2026, will see GMG undertake a series of key improvements designed to enhance comfort, reduce carbon emissions, and lower energy bills for residents.

Scope of Works

As part of the contract, GMG Contractors will install and upgrade a range of energy efficiency measures, including:

• External Wall Insulation – including the removal of existing canopies to BISF houses
• New Windows and Doors – improving energy performance and security
• Solar PV Systems – generating clean, renewable energy on-site
• Battery Storage – increasing energy self-sufficiency
• Loft Insulation – enhancing thermal performance and reducing heat loss

(BISF steel houses are British Steel Framed homes built post-war to tackle housing shortages; known for their robust structure and now benefiting from modern insulation and renewable upgrades.)

These improvements will contribute towards meeting the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS), Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing 2 (EESSH2), and future Net Zero targets.

• PAS 2030 accreditation for all renewable measures
• Proven experience delivering projects of a similar scale and type for RSLs or large landlords
• A qualified, competent workforce with the necessary technical expertise
• Strong health and safety management systems, effectively resourced and operational
• The ability to work proactively, flexibly, and professionally within occupied homes
• Compliance with Fife Housing Group’s code of conduct, including a considerate approach when working with vulnerable or elderly tenants.
