This was a full external alteration and renovation of residential properties in the much sought-after location of Rhu, not far from Helensburgh. The homes are the responsibility of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, who are the estate managers for the UK military, supporting the armed forces by planning, building, maintaining and servicing infrastructure and allocating accommodation to the families of service personnel who work in the vicinity.
Liaison with the client and with a large team of sub-contractors was key, as GMG drew on their wealth of experience of delivering projects of scale to clients large and small.
The project involved timber alterations to accommodate the installation of a new lightweight Decra roofing system to replace the former metal sheeting one that had been in place for some time. External wall insulation and a new render system were applied and new external doors and windows were installed together with uPVC soffits and fascias. Canopies were also renewed, as was the lighting system.
The properties now have a striking fresh appearance to match the buildings’ improved performance credentials. Families who live there will benefit from the improvements for many years to come.
